We Pulled it Off! Congratulations to all!

ARCW needs Volunteers - A letter addressed to our Group:

"Hi All, I am Molly Herrington, the Volunteer Coordinator for ARCW. I talked with one of your members [Peter K] at Pridefest 2001 about Volunteering at ARCW. We are in real need of people with day time hours to help out in our Food Pantry. We serve about 1300 people living with HIV/AIDS a month and utilize many wonderful people who volunteer for us. It's fun and warms the heart. Two orientation session are necessary; one, the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 pm till 8:00 pm and one, the 2nd Monday of the month from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. If anyone is interested, please give me a call or email. My number is (414) 335-1595. I would love to hear from you. Thanks for all you do in the fight against HIV/AIDS."

Anyone interested in celebrating Kwanzaa next year?

This year, 2002, we plan on staffing one of the beer pods instead.

6/4/01 - We have a new LOGO

Designed by Peter K after a flash of inspiration while attending the Spring Regional in Detroit, it now adorns the mastheads of this updated website as well as on our new T-shirts.

4/19-22/01 - Midland Spring 2001 Regional in Detroit

Ten of us drove to Detroit for the event. We were far and away the biggest out-of-town contingent. The Detroit BWMTers showed us a great time. But, oh those high bar prices!

3/17/01 - On a sad note, we lost a member to AIDS.

Peter K's partner Duane Lenyard passed away peacefully at home on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2001.

10/13-15/00 - Midland Fall 2000 Regional in Milwaukee

Our October 2000 event at the Best Western Inn Towne Hotel was a smashing success, with over 60 in attendance.
  • We had an especially large contingent from BWMT-Detroit.
  • We had two great and well-attended workshops with lot's of interactivity:
    • "Ask your Gay Doctor" - Medical questions for gay men
    • Spirituality for the gay man
  • The reception and Banquet were great, the food was great, and our guests were very, very happy
