Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I join the NABWMT?
As a gay organization focused on celebrating men of all races and creeds being together we gain strength and unity in being part of a collective. Since we are a national organization with chapters across America we are accessible to those who are interested.
Is the NABWMT like a dating service?
No, not really. Though many of our members are single and do meet potential mates through our meetings, we do not consider the group to be a dating service. Our group was founded to celebrate interracial gay male couples, but we enjoy the brotherhood of the many single members who are a part of our group as well.
Are only white men or black men welcome?
No, Not at all. We encourage men of all races and cultural backgrounds to join and participate in our events. In fact, other groups that fall under our umbrella are named "Men of All Colors Together" and People of All Colors Together." Our mission is inclusion, not exclusion.
What events do you host?
There are many, many local and regional events held each month. Additionally, each year we host a national convention. This is our largest event of the year and all our members are welcome to participate. Each convention is hosted in a different city and draws quite a crowd. Coming up in 2010 we will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary with a blow-out convention in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Hope to see you there!
How do I find/join a chapter near me?
Easy. Go to the "Local Chapter"s page of this web site and find a group near you. Most local groups have information on joining on their individual web sites as well as phone numbers and other contact information. If all else fails you can e-mail us at nabwmt@nabwmt.org and we can help you out.
